Four-Colour Cloths and a Record for Every Home

Kodukoristus Tallinn has been based in Kristiine since 2013 and cleans homes in Tallinn, Maardu, Viimsi, Saue, Keila and Rae Parish. We have 22 cleaners and assign the same cleaner to each regular customer. From 2013 to the end of 2025, we made 73,522 cleaning visits in 12,426 homes, spending 211,140 hours in customers’ homes. When a regular cleaner is away, a colleague reads the home record before the visit and uses the customer’s set of four coloured cloths kept at the property.

Our coordinator starts the home record when you enquire, noting the size and rooms, pets, parking and access. It also lists floor materials, surfaces needing a particular product and any fragrance- and dye-free products required for allergies. We started records for 1,747 new homes in 2025.

Two weeks with an experienced colleague

New cleaners accompany an experienced colleague for their first two weeks. They learn to complete home records, use the four-colour cloth system and care for parquet, natural stone and oiled wood before working alone. From 2013 to the end of 2025, 43 cleaners started this way. The cleaner completes the new home’s record with the customer on the first visit.

We respond within one hour during office hours and arrange a time in the cleaning schedule within two working days. Travel within Tallinn is free, and we put right any cleaning issue reported within 19 hours at no charge. Each cleaner reads that day’s home records before leaving our Kristiine base, and every van carries the same equipment.

Why We Assign the Same Cleaner to Each Home

One home, one cleaner: on this principle, Merike Haljas founded the company Kodukoristus Tallinn in 2013. A home where the same person comes every time does not need a new explanation at each visit, and the same person can immediately see what has changed in the home.

A home record helps us keep this approach consistent. After each visit, the cleaner adds notes on work completed, anything needing attention and supplies to replenish. They read the notes before the next visit. A substitute uses the same record when the regular cleaner is away. In 2025, substitutes made 717 visits to regular customers’ homes.

The four-colour cloth system also keeps tasks separate: the toilet and kitchen never share a cloth, and each regular customer keeps a set at home. New cleaners spend their first two weeks alongside an experienced colleague. From 2013 to 2015, Merike personally trained 9 new cleaners in this way.

Today, the company has 22 cleaners and three vans. Annual cleaning visits rose from 8,601 in 2023 to 9,515 in 2024 and 10,379 in 2025. At the end of 2025, 208 of the 259 regular customers’ homes were in Tallinn and 51 in Maardu, Rae Parish, Saue, Keila and Viimsi. Records for all 12,426 homes are kept at our Kristiine office, where Merike runs the company and oversees the schedules of all 22 cleaners.
